A flood of blessings

As it turns out Arthur and I each started a Thanksgiving post.  As I was contemplating the past year I thought of a few things that I take for granted all the way to little things that bring great joy.  So here is a portion on my overflowing cornucopia of blessings:

Everyday we give thanks for our food:
We didn't have one meal this year in which we were unable to put food on the table.
While our diet contained beans and rice on several occasions it was not limited to these staples like much of the world.
This year we had the added pleasure of the joy of eating something that I planted, cared for, and picked outside my door.
We have the ability to taste our food and enjoy eating it.
This past year I have learned and refined my cooking skills which is been somewhat enjoyable.

As a health care provider each day I'm thankful for my health:
Access to health care- we both saw doctors this year but didn't have frequent monthly check ups like individuals facing health issues
Bodies that include a heart that beats correctly, lungs that breathe without effort, arms and legs the function without pain to walk, run, jump, and skip if we have the notion
To have a spouse who enjoys being active and will be at your side for miles and miles of running and biking

I'm also thankful for my job:
As a woman  there has been no point in history thus far when there were so many educational and career opportunities available to me.
I am finally finished with those educational opportunities and no long have to spend all my free time studying.
I have wonderful co-workers, it's almost like a big family that picks on each other (in the nicest way possible)
I have a job that I love-- how many people get their dream job as their first job?

I spend at least an hour of my day in my car so I'm thankful for:
Living in a country with a safe and reliable infrastructure of roadways
That we own not one but two reliable vehicles
Thousand of miles of safe commuting this past year
The finer comforts of automobile travel including heated seats, air conditioners, audiobooks and podcasts

For the Lord of Heaven who pours out these blessings:
We can meet  to attend church services without fear for our lives, our family, or our livelihoods.
We can profess the name of Christ freely.
We have a church building to worship in that includes 4 walls and roof as well as comfortable chairs.
The beauty of the body of Christ that unites believers across the country and world-- we fellowships with young adults in our communities, family from across the country at family camp in Colorado, reconnected with friends from college who encourage and challenge us, and are able to bless workers for the Kingdom across the globe through financial support.

One of the biggest things I am thankful for is my husband:
We have been married for 510 wonderful days.
I'm thankful that he eats my cooking without complaining-- not even once.
One of his greatest desires in life is to protect me from physical danger.
Life with Arthur is never boring.
He makes me laugh really hard.  (I read his Thanksgiving post and couldn't stop laughing.)
He is a man of integrity who loves the Lord.

We have so much to be thankful for.  Omnia Vincit Amor.
